Our Take on the Signature II Infrared Sauna

By

Short answer: the Signature II is a 2-person far-infrared cabin built around Sunlighten’s SoloCarbon heaters, on a dedicated 120V/20A circuit. Neither the price nor the warranty terms are published where we looked. Ask for both in writing before you compare it with anything.

What does it need electrically?

It runs on a dedicated 120V/20A circuit. That is household voltage, but it is not the same as plugging into any outlet. A 20A circuit needs a 20A breaker, heavier wire, and a 20A receptacle. If the room doesn’t have one, an electrician adds it. Our data doesn’t state the wattage for this model.

Will it fit through the door?

The exterior is 50.9” x 45.9” x 77.7”, about 16 sq ft. The interior is 45.4” x 39.9” x 70.3”. The cabin’s own door opening is 28” wide.

Weight depends on the wood: 438 lbs in basswood and 522 lbs in eucalyptus. That is an 84 lb difference, so the wood choice affects delivery as well as looks. Either way, plan for help and avoid stairs if you can.

Here’s what the spec sheet won’t tell you

  • The price. You contact Sunlighten or a dealer for a quote.
  • The warranty. We found no terms listed on the manufacturer’s page for this model.

The 1-person Signature I lists $4,999 and a 7-year warranty. Use those as reference points, and ask whether the Signature II carries the same 7 years. I dislike quote-only pricing because it prevents comparison. Ask for the cabin, delivery, and any installation as separate lines.

Our button goes to Amazon, which may not carry this model. Sunlighten sells mainly direct.

You get, you give up

You get heaters Sunlighten describes as low-EMF, colored lighting, and a choice of eucalyptus or basswood. You give up full-spectrum heat: this model is far-infrared only.

How it compares

The Clearlight Sanctuary 2 is a full-spectrum 2-person cabin with a limited lifetime warranty, also quote-only. The Dynamic Barcelona publishes $3,499 at Golden Designs and is $1,999 at Select Saunas. Bottom line: collect both quotes, then compare against the published prices in our infrared sauna comparison.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are infrared saunas cheaper to run than traditional saunas?

Yes — infrared panels heat the body directly rather than the whole cabin's air, which generally means lower electricity use and shorter warm-up times.

Do infrared saunas need a special electrical circuit?

Compact single-person cabins often run on a standard outlet, while larger multi-person cabins may require a dedicated circuit — check the manufacturer's spec sheet.

What does full-spectrum infrared mean?

It means the cabin combines near, mid, and far-infrared emitters in one unit rather than relying on a single wavelength.
