Our Take on the Sanctuary 2 Full-Spectrum Infrared Sauna

By

Short answer: the Sanctuary 2 is a 2-person full-spectrum infrared cabin with a limited lifetime warranty. It plugs into a 120V/20A outlet. There is no published price, so you’ll need a quote, and you should check your outlet type before assuming it is plug-and-play.

Is a 120V/20A outlet a normal outlet?

Not always. The cabin uses a NEMA 5-20P plug, which has one horizontal blade. It fits only a 20A receptacle, the kind with a T-shaped slot. Many rooms have 15A receptacles, and the plug won’t go into those.

If you already have a 20A circuit with the right receptacle and little else on it, no electrician is needed. If you don’t, adding a dedicated 20A circuit is a modest job for an electrician. Look at your outlets before you order.

What does full-spectrum mean here?

Two 500W emitters on the front wall add near and mid infrared, and far-infrared heaters cover the back, sides, and floor. The full-spectrum part comes from those front emitters. Full-Spectrum Infrared Sauna: What the Label Means explains what the extra wavelengths do and don’t change.

Will it fit?

The exterior is 51.75” x 47.75” x 77”, about 17 sq ft. The bench is 46.5” wide and 21.75” deep, a snug seat for two adults. It weighs 450 lbs, so plan for two strong helpers and a ground-floor location, or ask about delivery to the room.

Here’s what the spec sheet won’t tell you

The price. Clearlight quotes it after a consultation. I dislike that, because you can’t compare without calling. Ask for a written quote that lists the cabin, shipping, and any accessories separately. Our button goes to Clearlight’s product page.

You get, you give up

You get app control, a choice of mahogany or basswood, and a limited lifetime warranty for the original owner. You give up price transparency.

How it compares

The Dynamic Barcelona publishes its price ($3,499 at Golden Designs, $1,999 at Select Saunas) but is far-infrared only and smaller inside. The Health Mate Enrich 2 is a 2-person cabin at $5,300. Use those as anchors for your quote. All three appear in our infrared sauna comparison.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are infrared saunas cheaper to run than traditional saunas?

Yes — infrared panels heat the body directly rather than the whole cabin's air, which generally means lower electricity use and shorter warm-up times.

Do infrared saunas need a special electrical circuit?

Compact single-person cabins often run on a standard outlet, while larger multi-person cabins may require a dedicated circuit — check the manufacturer's spec sheet.

What does full-spectrum infrared mean?

It means the cabin combines near, mid, and far-infrared emitters in one unit rather than relying on a single wavelength.
