Short answer: the Hanko is a 2-3 person indoor traditional sauna with glass on the front and one side and a Harvia 6kW heater included, for $5,999 at Select Saunas. It needs a 240V/30A circuit. The warranty is 5 years, limited.
Size
Assembled, it measures 64” wide, 48” deep, and 78” tall, about 21 sq ft, our arithmetic. It weighs 525 lbs. Golden Designs doesn’t publish the interior dimensions, so ask for them if bench length matters to you.
The heater and circuit
The included Harvia SWS60 “The Wall” is 6kW with built-in controls. At 240V that is about 25A, our arithmetic, which fits the 240V/30A circuit the listing gives. Lights and audio use a separate 120V/15A supply.
Glass walls
The front and right side are glass. Here’s what the spec sheet won’t tell you: glass holds heat less well than thick wood, so a glass cabin may take longer to heat than a wood one of the same size. That is general physics; the listing gives no heat-up time. Glass-Front vs Enclosed Sauna covers the trade-off.
What’s in the box
The heater, an LED control panel with FM radio and Bluetooth, built-in speakers, colored lighting, a backrest, and a sandglass, bucket, and scoop.
You get, you give up
You get an open, glass-fronted look and a heater in the price. You give up published interior dimensions and the longer warranty you’d get from Almost Heaven.
How it compares
The Almost Heaven Madison seats 2-3 for $4,786. The Hanko costs $1,213 more for the glass walls and audio.
Bottom line: a good choice if the look matters and the room is warm to begin with. Ask for the interior dimensions before you order.
