Our Take on the Annual Maintenance Package

By

Short answer: this package holds a year of supplies for certain Renu Therapy tubs: 12 filters, 8 oil and dirt buoys, and 4 chlorine-free sanitizer sticks, for $299. It works out to about $25 a month. It fits the Cold Stoic Classic, the Cold Stoic 2.0, and the standard Siberian only.

Run the numbers

The package contains:

  • 12 Renu certified filters, one per month
  • 4 two-packs of oil and dirt buoys, which is 8 buoys
  • 4 sanitizer sticks

Each stick lasts about 3 months, so 4 sticks cover the year. Renu sells the Sanitizing Spa Stick alone for $27.99, so the four sticks are worth about $112. That leaves about $187 for 12 filters and 8 buoys.

Our data has no separate prices for the filters or buoys, so I can’t tell you the exact saving. Ask Renu for single-filter pricing and do the sum before you commit.

Will it fit your tub?

Compatible models are the Cold Stoic Classic, the Cold Stoic 2.0, and the standard Siberian. Owners of the Cold Stoic 3.0 and the Aurelius need a different package. Our data doesn’t say whether the Siberian Pro is covered. Check before ordering, because a filter that doesn’t fit is wasted.

Do you need 12 filters a year?

That is one a month. If one or two people use the tub and rinse off first, a filter may last longer. If a family uses it daily, a month may be right. Watch the first two or three filters and note how they look when you change them.

What do the buoys do?

They float on the surface and absorb body oils and lotions, which would otherwise coat the walls and clog the filter. Eight buoys is one every 6 to 7 weeks.

What isn’t included?

Test strips aren’t listed in the package. You still need a way to check the water. Renu’s Sirona Water Test Strips cost $15 for 25.

How it compares

Bottom line: convenient if your tub is on the list and you use it often. Cold Plunge Maintenance Cost: Annual Pack or As Needed compares the two ways to buy. Our button goes to Renu Therapy’s product page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a cover for my cold plunge?

A cover isn't strictly required, but an insulated one reduces heat gain, keeps out debris, and adds a layer of safety around the tub.

Are accessories universal across brands?

Some are, but many covers and steps are sized for specific tub shapes — check compatibility before purchasing.
