Short answer: the Cold Stoic 2.0 is a laydown cold plunge with a 0.25 HP chiller, 4 inches of foam insulation, and a 5-year limited warranty for $9,499. It cools to 39°F and is rated at 58 dB. You pay a premium for the insulation, the low noise, and the warranty.
What does it cost to run?
The chiller is rated at 450W. On a 120V circuit that is about 3.75A, a light load for a 15A outlet. While the compressor runs, it uses 0.45 kWh per hour. At the 2026 US average of 18.34 cents per kWh, that is about 8 cents per hour of run time.
It doesn’t run constantly. The 4 inches of foam slow the heat coming in, so the chiller cycles. Your monthly cost depends on the air temperature and how often the lid is open.
How loud is 58 dB?
The rating is 58 dB measured at about 3 feet. That is roughly the level of a normal conversation. It matters if the tub sits under a bedroom window or on a shared wall. Cold Plunge Chiller Noise explains how to read the figure.
Will your floor hold it?
The exterior is 70” x 33” x 35”, about 16 sq ft. Filled weight is about 1,155 lbs. That is roughly 72 lbs per sq ft before you get in. On a slab it is fine. For an upstairs room or a deck, confirm the load rating first.
It holds about 95 gallons at the normal fill and up to 134 gallons at most.
What does the warranty cover?
Five years, limited, for residential use only. Commercial use is excluded. Ask whether the chiller is covered for the full 5 years or a shorter term.
