Our Take on the Solo 3.0

By

Short answer: the Joovv Solo 3.0 is a vertical red and near-infrared panel that expands into multi-panel kits, priced at $1,699 during a promotion when we checked. It is certified by Intertek to IEC 60601 safety standards. Joovv’s product page leaves out the numbers you need to compare it.

Here’s what the spec sheet won’t tell you

Joovv’s page for the Solo 3.0 doesn’t publish:

  • The exact wavelengths
  • The irradiance and the distance it was measured at
  • The panel’s dimensions and weight
  • The LED count

Without the dimensions, you can’t work out the cost per square inch or how much of your body it covers. Without irradiance, you can’t estimate session length. Ask Joovv for all four before you spend $1,699. Other makers publish them.

What do the certifications mean?

The listing describes it as a Class II medical device, tested by Intertek to IEC 60601. That standard covers the electrical safety of medical equipment. It tells you the product was built and tested to a recognized safety standard. It doesn’t tell you how effective it is. FDA Cleared vs. Approved vs. Registered Devices explains the device classes.

Is the expandable design worth it?

The Solo is the base unit for Joovv’s Duo, Max, Quad, and Elite kits. If you think you’ll want full-body coverage later, you can add panels. Each added panel is another purchase at Joovv prices. Modular vs. Single Red Light Panels: The Math runs the totals.

What else does it do?

Recovery+ is Joovv’s name for a pulsed mode. Ambient Mode is a low-level light for evenings, and the app has an alarm function. These are convenience features.

What to check on price and warranty

The $1,699 figure reflected an active promotion, so confirm the current price on joovv.com. The warranty is 2 years from the delivery date. It plugs into a household outlet.

How it compares

The MitoPRO 1500+ is a 12” x 36” panel with 300 LEDs, published irradiance, and a 3-year warranty for $1,169. That is $530 less. Bottom line: I’d want Joovv’s missing numbers before choosing the Solo over it. Our button goes to Joovv’s product page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is red light therapy safe to use daily?

Follow the manufacturer's session-length and frequency guidance for your specific device, and consult a physician if you have any skin or eye conditions.

Can wellness equipment replace a sauna or cold plunge?

No — these are complementary tools, not substitutes for the heat or cold exposure a sauna or plunge provides.
