Short answer: the JetBoots PRO Plus are wireless compression boots with pressure adjustable from 20 to 100 mmHg in 5 mmHg steps, plus infrared LED and 3-level vibration, for $999.99. They are the most expensive recovery product on this site. You are paying for fine control and the extra therapies.
What does the extra $450 buy?
Against the JetBoots Prime at $549.99, the PRO Plus gives you:
- 17 pressure settings (20 to 100 mmHg in steps of 5), against 4
- Session times adjustable from 10 to 60 minutes
- 4 overlapping air chambers per boot
- An FDA cleared listing
Run the numbers before you decide. If you would set the pressure once and leave it, the Prime does the same core job.
What do the specs mean in use?
Battery life is 150 to 240 minutes depending on which therapies are on. With LED and vibration running, expect the lower figure, which is 5 sessions of 30 minutes. The infrared LED switches off automatically after 45 minutes.
The boots weigh 11.3 to 12.8 lbs depending on size. That is about double the Prime’s 6 lbs. You notice it when carrying them, less so when lying down.
What does “FDA cleared” mean?
Cleared means the FDA reviewed the maker’s submission and found the device substantially equivalent to one already on the market. It is not the same as approved, and it is not a statement about how well it works for recovery. FDA Cleared vs. Approved vs. Registered Devices explains the terms.
Ask your doctor before use if you have a circulation condition or a history of blood clots.
About the rating and the name
The 4.74 from 57 reviews is reported by Therabody. This model replaced the earlier RecoveryAir line, and old RecoveryAir pages now redirect to it. If you see RecoveryAir boots discounted elsewhere, they are the previous generation.
What does the warranty cover?
A 1-year limited warranty, the same as the Prime. At nearly $1,000, I’d want longer.
How it compares
The Hyperice Normatec 3 costs $899 with a console, hoses, and a 40-110 mmHg range. The page here is for the Regular size. See how they rank in our recovery equipment comparison.
