Short answer: the Discover Premium 300 is a 2-adult spa with 20 jets, an ozone system, and a heater that runs at 1kW on a wall outlet or 4kW on 240V. It suits a couple who want a rigid spa without committing to an electrician on day one.
How long does it take to heat?
Run the numbers before you fall for the photos. The spa holds 160 gallons. Raising that from 60°F to 102°F takes about 16.4 kWh of heat (160 gal x 8.34 lbs x 42°F, divided by 3,412 Btu per kWh).
- On 120V with the 1kW heater: about 16 hours
- On 240V with the 4kW heater: about 4 hours
Those are minimums. They ignore heat lost through the shell and cover, so a cold night adds time. The practical point: on 120V you fill it the day before you want to use it.
Will your deck hold it?
Dry weight is 232 lbs. The water adds about 1,334 lbs (160 gal x 8.34), so the filled spa is about 1,566 lbs before anyone gets in. Spread over the 80” x 68” footprint (about 37.8 sq ft), that is roughly 41 lbs per sq ft, plus bathers. Confirm your deck’s rating with a builder or engineer if it isn’t a ground-level slab.
Here’s what the spec sheet won’t tell you
AquaRest’s product page doesn’t state the warranty length. Ask the dealer for the written terms on the shell, the equipment, and the cabinet separately. The 240V conversion needs a 30-40A circuit installed by an electrician, which is a second cost on top of the $3,199 list price.
