Sauna shopping has an odd feature: the exact same model can carry very different prices depending on where you look. That’s frustrating, but it’s also an opportunity if you compare carefully.

This article covers why prices vary and what to compare beyond the number. For the rest of the buying decisions, start with the infrared sauna buying guide.

Short answer: compare the exact model number, the warranty, shipping, returns, and what’s included. The lowest price only wins if those match.

Real examples

Sauna Where Price (Oct. 1, 2026)
Dynamic Barcelona (DYN-6106-01) Golden Designs (manufacturer) $3,499
Dynamic Barcelona (DYN-6106-01) Select Saunas $1,999 (compare-at $3,499)
SaunaLife X2 My Sauna World (earlier listing) $5,940
SaunaLife X2 Select Saunas $4,990
Golden Designs Forssa Golden Designs (earlier listing) $8,999
Golden Designs Forssa Select Saunas $6,999

To compare a dealer’s current prices against the maker’s, browse Select Saunas (affiliate link: we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you).

Some brands, like Clearlight for the Sanctuary 2, don’t list a price on their own site at all, so prices come from dealers and can change with promotions.

Five things to compare

  1. The exact model number. Variants like the Barcelona and Barcelona Elite share a name but differ in features.
  2. Warranty. Buy from an authorized dealer, and ask whether the warranty is the manufacturer’s or the store’s.
  3. Shipping and delivery. Curbside or room-of-choice, and whether freight costs extra.
  4. Returns. Saunas are heavy; return shipping can be expensive.
  5. What’s included. Heaters, stones, controllers, and backrests vary by retailer package.

Here’s what the spec sheet won’t tell you: a “compare-at” price is the retailer’s own reference figure. It’s useful context, not proof of a discount.

When to buy

Promotions come and go, and prices on this site are checked on a specific date for that reason. Check the live price before you order.

Run the numbers on the gaps

The table is easier to read as differences:

Sauna Gap As a share of the higher price
Dynamic Barcelona $1,500 about 43%
SaunaLife X2 $950 about 16%
Golden Designs Forssa $2,000 about 22%

These are our arithmetic from the prices above. A 16% gap can be one retailer’s seasonal sale. A 43% gap is large enough that I’d check twice that it is the same model, new, with the maker’s warranty.

The warranty can vary too

Price isn’t the only thing that changes between listings. For the Finnmark FD-5 Trinity XL, one dealer’s page states a 10-year warranty on the sauna and a lifetime warranty on the infrared heaters. Another dealer’s page mentions a 2-year consumer warranty on the traditional heater. They may both be describing the same manufacturer terms, with different parts quoted. You can’t tell from the pages.

Dealers consistently list a 5-year limited warranty for the Dynamic Barcelona, while Golden Designs’ own product page states no term.

So ask each retailer for the warranty document itself, and compare documents.

When there is no price to compare

Some prices on this site come from a single dealer because the maker doesn’t publish one. The Clearlight Premier IS-1 figure ($5,799) is from an authorized dealer. The Clearlight Sanctuary 2 and Sunlighten Signature II have no published price at all.

For those, the only way to compare is to collect quotes. Ask every seller for the same list in writing: cabin price, shipping, delivery to the curb or the room, tax, and anything included.

A one-line test

Add up the delivered total: price, shipping, tax, and any accessory you’d otherwise buy separately. Compare totals, never sticker prices.

Bottom line: match the model number, the warranty, and the delivery terms. Then let the price decide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the same sauna cheaper at one store?

Retailers set their own prices, run their own promotions, and bundle different extras. On October 1, 2026, the Dynamic Barcelona listed at $3,499 on Golden Designs' site and $1,999 at Select Saunas.

Is it safe to buy a sauna from a third-party retailer?

Check that the retailer is an authorized dealer for the brand, since warranty coverage can depend on it, and compare return and shipping terms before you buy.

Why do some saunas have no listed price?

Some brands sell through dealers on a quote basis. Clearlight and Sunlighten, for example, don't list prices for some cabins on their own sites, so prices come from dealers.
