Short answer: the Theragun Mini is a palm-size massage gun that weighs 0.88 lbs, has 3 speeds, and runs 150 minutes per charge, for $179.99. It is the one to buy for a gym bag or carry-on. It has less force and reach than a full-size gun.
How small is it?
It measures 116 x 135 x 96 mm, which is about 4.6” x 5.3” x 3.8”. It weighs 0.40 kg. For scale, the full-size Theragun PRO weighs 2.2 lbs, two and a half times as much. A light gun is easier to hold on your own forearm, neck, or calf for a few minutes.
The trade-off is reach. With no long handle, you can’t get to the middle of your own back.
What do the specs mean in use?
The 3 speeds are 1,750, 2,100, and 2,400 percussions per minute. Battery life is 150 minutes. At 10 minutes a day, that is 15 days between charges. It charges by USB-C, so one cable covers it and your phone.
The travel lock stops it switching on inside a bag. The listing includes a soft case and three attachments: dampener, standard ball, and thumb.
What do “FDA registered” and “HSA/FSA eligible” mean?
Registered means Therabody has listed the device with the FDA. It is not a review of whether it works. HSA/FSA eligibility is about how you can pay, and your plan administrator has the final say. FDA Cleared vs. Approved vs. Registered Devices explains the difference.
How do you use it safely?
Let the head rest on the muscle and move slowly. Stay off bones, joints, and the front of the neck. Stop if you feel sharp pain or numbness.
What does the warranty cover?
A 1-year limited warranty.
You get, you give up
You get Bluetooth guided routines through the Therabody app. You give up force, speed options, and a noise figure: our data doesn’t have one for this model.
How it compares
The Hyperice Hypervolt 3 Pro costs $349, weighs 2.5 lbs, and lists 51 dB with a 4-hour battery. Bottom line: the Mini is a second gun or a travel gun. See Travel Recovery Equipment.
