1. Electrical
- Confirm voltage and amperage on the spec sheet — 120V/15A, 120V/20A, and 240V circuits are not interchangeable.
- Ask whether "dedicated circuit" means any outlet or one with nothing else on that breaker.
- Get an electrician quote before ordering if the spec sheet shows 240V and you don't already have that service.
2. Warranty
- Check whether the heater/chiller is covered separately from the structure — and for how long.
- Confirm the warranty is transferable if you might resell.
- If a warranty term isn't stated on the manufacturer's own page, treat it as unconfirmed until you ask directly.
3. Sizing and delivery
- Compare your doorway, stairwell, and delivery path against exterior dimensions, not interior.
- Confirm filled weight against floor load rating for any indoor, above-ground-level installation.
- Measure ceiling height and door swing clearance, not just floor footprint.
4. Before your first session
- Talk to a physician first if you have a cardiovascular condition, are pregnant, or take medication affecting blood pressure or circulation.
- Start shorter and milder than you think you need to, for both heat and cold.
- Never use either alone for your first few sessions.
